Established in 1986, Biondo's Gardening & Landscaping was founded on real estate home detailing, landscape maintenance, and pest control services. In 1989 the company expanded its focus to include landscape design and installation.

Andy Biondo's founding concept was, "To be a great designer there are five primary aspects to be considered prior to breaking ground":

1. As a designer, you must come to know your client! Their dreams, their aspirations, their purposes and goals for the landscape environment they wish to create.
2. As a designer, you must discuss a working budget that can take the clients dreams and bring them to a reality. Can the job be done as a hole or does it need to be completed in phases.
3. As a designer, you must know the process and details of Landscape Installation: proper irrigation, planting techniques, hardscapes, softscape, special effects.
4. As a designer, you must know before hand what the finished maintenance program shall entail. If the project is created towards the formal end, it generally shall entail a higher level of maintenance. If it gravitates towards a more natural appearance it will tend to be less maintenance leading to lower maintenance cost.
5. Lastly, a great designer should be able to forecast that which would attack your Landscape and henceforth design appropriately. Landscape pest control is defined as: knowing that which shall negatively attack your Landscape environment. This could be insects, weather, fungus, virus, animals, or even small children, all these things could have a profound effect on the lasting condition of you landscape and investment
